International Yoga Day

“Yoga is the journey of the self through the self to the self”
Bhagawad Gita.

This beautiful and insightful piece of wisdom can help us understand the importance of yoga in life and more so in adolescence when a child’s all- round development-physical, emotional and social-begins.

Yoga has always been an integral part of Health and Physical Education, a compulsory subject since 1988.  The National Curriculum framework, 2005 adopted a holistic approach towards health. Thus yoga became more of an experiential learning component than a part of instructive education.

The Fifth International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2019 at Prasiddhi in association with Heartfulness foundation.

The members of the foundation presented a heart-warming session about practising Yoga in our daily life.  They also demonstrated a few simple asanas that could help them to be fit and healthy.  A special meditation session was conducted for the Grade X students to increase their concentration levels.
